Afterward they took a relaxing soak in the luxurious marble whirlpool tub.

The team had sent up two bottles of the hotel’s most expensive champagne and a four-tier chocolate cake with espresso-laced fudge slathered between each layer. Logan and Meadow had shared three slices, eating off each other’s forks and groaning between every decadent bite.

In honor of his birthday, she’d loosened her one-drink rule and was now enjoying her second glass of champagne as she lay back against him, his muscular thighs bracketing her waist.

She closed her eyes and sighed languorously, relaxing into the warm water bubbling against her skin. The heat and pulsing jets eased the soreness from her body. Having sex with such a well-endowed man had left her tender in places she’d never even used before.

Logan released the contented rumble of a well-fed tomcat, then bent to kiss her bare shoulder. The softness of his lips on her wet skin made her shiver and purr.

“I think we should stay in here for the rest of the night,” he murmured against her ear. “We can make love, feed each other cake and replenish the hot water as needed. How does that sound?”

“Heavenly,” she said with a lazy grin. “Except we’d both be prunes by dawn.”

He chuckled and nipped her earlobe. “Killjoy.”

She laughed and drank her champagne, enjoying the sensation of bubbles tickling her nose. Each sip of the wine cooled her from the inside like a fizzy, soothing balm.

Logan nuzzled the sensitive shell of her ear. “What an unforgettable birthday gift.”

Pleasure curled through her like warm sunshine. “I’m so glad you enjoyed it.” She let out a dramatic sigh. “I mean, I know I can’t compete with Sanaa Lathan—”

He laughed softly, his breath heating her neck. “Were you jealous?”

“No.”

“Liar.”

She grinned, holding her thumb and forefinger an inch apart. “Maybe just a teensy bit.”

Logan chuckled. “You have no reason to be jealous of her or any other woman.”

“Really? You’ve been crushing on her since you were a kid.”

“But she could never be my Jupiter.”

Her insides dissolved like honey as she turned her head to stare at him over her shoulder.

He gazed back at her, his eyes heavy lidded and glittering. He was so sexy and intense he made her breath catch.

“Ever since I started playing professional hockey,” he said huskily, “I’ve been secretly fantasizing about looking up into the stands one day and seeing your face. I know you probably couldn’t tell, but having you at the game tonight was like a dream come true.”

His poignant words melted her to the bone. “I’m so glad I was there,” she said softly.

“So am I, cariño. So am I.”

She settled back against him, smiling when he cuddled her closer and began crooning softly, “Fly me to the moon. Let me play among the stars. Let me see what spring is like on Jupiter—” He kissed her cheek “—and Mars. In other words, hold my hand. In other words, baby, kiss me….”

As he nuzzled her hair, she sighed blissfully and grinned. “You have a nice voice.
